The Valvet Veterinary Hospital is staffed by professionals specialised in various areas. There are 11 veterinary surgeons and 4 assistants who provide a 24-hour service, 365 days a year. Ana Isabel Tejedor
Veterinary Director
After graduating in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Zaragoza in 2009, she worked in a number of hospitals and clinics in Spain. She has completed a postgraduate course in Orthopaedics and is currently doing a postgraduate course in Ophthalmology. In addition to her areas of specialisation, her interests include emergency medicine, surgery and internal medicine.
Alejandra Trobo
Veterinary
Alejandra obtained a Degree in Veterinary Medicine from the Complutense University of Madrid in 2021. She collaborates with the animal medicine dentistry and surgery service at the Clinical Veterinary Hospital of the Complutense University in Madrid. A specialist in dentistry, she has contributed to several manuals, books and articles.
Marta Rodrigo
Veterinary
Graduated in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Zaragoza in 2023, she began her professional career immediately after finishing her studies, gaining experience in several clinical areas. She completed a postgraduate program in Neurology and is currently pursuing another in Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation for dogs and cats. She also continues to expand her knowledge in animal nutrition, one of her main areas of interest.
Cristina García Lorente
Veterinary
She graduated in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Zaragoza in 2024. After completing her studies, she undertook additional training in cardiology and emergency techniques.She subsequently began a one-year rotating internship at the Canis Veterinary Hospital in Girona. In parallel, she completed a postgraduate program in Internal Medicine with Cuas.
Her current areas of interest include Internal Medicine, Cardiology, and Ultrasound.

María Salas
Veterinary Assistant
Despite starting her career as an equine veterinary assistant, María was soon attracted to the world of small animals and completed her training in this area. Maria has been with Valvet since it was founded and she is particularly interested in surgery and hospitalisation. She enjoys spending her free time with her three dogs and cat, and horse riding is her passion.
Jesica Ballesteros
Veterinary Assistant
Jesica joined Valvet hospital in 2019. She began her training in dog and cat grooming, before going on to train as a clinical, technical and surgical veterinary assistant. She is passionate about cats and nutritional advice.
Mercedes Moreno
Veterinary Assistant
She is a veterinary technical assistant, canine groomer, and senior clinical diagnostic laboratory technician. She has more than five years of experience in clinics in both Teruel and Zaragoza. She joined VALVET Valdespartera in September, where she is responsible for both patient reception and hospitalised patients, as well as assisting in the operating theatre and processing samples. She is a great animal lover and appreciates the happiness they bring when spending time with them.
Ana Sopeña
Veterinary Assistant
Ana is a veterinary nurse trained at the ZBrain Academy. Passionate about animals since childhood, she began her career in the equestrian world, working at the High-Performance Equestrian Center of Zaragoza as a trainer and foal caretaker. After completing her internship at Valvet, she discovered her interest in small animals, particularly in emergency and hospitalization care. She has since specialized through courses in ICU, veterinary emergencies, and radiology. In her free time, she enjoys outdoor sports, training young horses, and relaxing moments with her cat.She has always had a passion for animals and since 2019 has been working in the kennels, looking after and giving cuddles to all the “doggies” that are brought to us.

Gemma Bailach
Veterinary Assistant
Gemma combines her Veterinary Medicine studies at the University of Zaragoza with her work as a veterinary assistant. She is currently training in several clinical areas, with a particular interest in surgery, ultrasound and internal medicine. She stands out for her commitment to animal welfare, her sense of responsibility and her strong motivation to continue learning and growing in the veterinary field.
