Our Team

In our centre, we have Veterinary Specialists qualified in Surgery and Traumatology, Ophthalmology, Dermatology, Exotic Animals, Internal Medicine and Oncology, as we are a reference centre in these specialities.

Veterinarians

Sergio Calvet

Veterinary Director

Sergio is an Expert in Surgery and Traumatology. He has a degree in Veterinary Medicine, an ESVP Diploma in Veterinary Ophthalmology and a PHD in Surgery and Traumatology.
He is a member of the Spanish Society of Veterinary Ophthalmology and has completed Advanced Specialization Courses in Microsurgery. He is also a member of the Association of Veterinarians Specialist in Small Animals (AVEPA).

Paz García

Veterinary

Paz has a degree in Veterinary Medicine and a PHD in Veterinary Dermatology and Veterinary Oncology. She is a member of GEDA (a group that specialises in Dermatology) and is a member of the Association
of Veterinarian Specialists in Small Animals (AVEPA). She has also completed numerous training courses related to these specialties and has a Diploma from the Complutense University of Cytological Interpretation in Small Animals.

Alicia Mata

Veterinary

Alicia has a degree in Veterinary Medicine. She has a degree in Veterinary Medicine and a Master’s Degree in Medical Surgical Techniques and Emergencies in Exotic Animals from AEVA.
She has completed numerous courses related to exotic animals, internal medicine and ultrasounds in pets and small animals. She is a member of AVEPA and GMCAE. She joined our team in 2014 and specialises in Exotic Animals and Ultrasounds, alongside internal medicine, emergencies and soft tissue surgery in small and exotic animals. She is currently completing a postgraduate course in Small Animal Clinical Ultrasound at Improve International.

Laura Pérez

Veterinary

In 2014, Laura completed her Veterinary degree from the Faculty of Murcia. She then went on to complete a GPCert Degree in internal medicine of small animals from the International School of Veterinary Postgraduate Studies.
She has completed numerous courses that relate to her speciality, is a member of the Association of Veterinary Specialists in Small Animals (AVEPA) and a member of the ISFM (International Society of Feline Medicine). She is currently studying for a CSP (Advanced Postgraduate Course) in Feline Medicine (Neoanimalia). She has been working in a small animal clinic since 2015 and joined Especies Veterinarios in July 2019, where she is in charge of Internal Medicine. Since January 2021, she has taken on the role of Feline Director, following the Cat Friendly homologation of the clinic.

Marta Guirado

Veterinary Assistant

Marta is a Veterinary Assistant and has completed a higher course in general veterinary nursing, equestrian, exotic and zoo animal care.

She has also completed several courses in canine training and behaviour, as well as training in customer service and marketing. She joined Especies Veterinarios in November 2021 as a Veterinary Assistant.

Natalia Bosque

Veterinary Assistant

Natalia is a veterinary technical assistant and groomer, who studied at the Artero International Academy. She has 4 years of experience and is careful
to assess what cut should be done for different breeds. Outside of working at our veterinary clinic, she helps out in animal shelters. She is currently training in the speciality of Marine Mammals.

Joel Castillo

Veterinary Assistant

Joel is a clinical veterinary assistant and ATV trained at the Escuela Superior de Auxiliares y Expertos since 2020. In addition, he is still training in the speciality of exotic animal assistant. Joel also collaborates with the dog shelter SOS Sagunto.

Ana Baonza

Groomer

Ana has been a groomer at Clínica Especies Veterinarios since October 2020. She studied dog grooming and
aesthetics at the Artero International Academy and has extensive experience in breed-specific cuts, taking into account the best cut for the coat of the animal.
