How does our emergency service work?
To provide the best care, we follow this protocol based on the time of day and the severity of the case:
Outside opening hours: Emergencies will initially be dealt with over the phone via our emergency number: 661 678 878.
In-clinic care: If the case requires it, the animal will be treated at our clinic, provided that hospitalisation is not necessary.
Serious or critical cases: If, after assessment, it is determined that the patient needs to be hospitalised, they will be referred directly to the Lleida Veterinary Hospital. There, we provide a 24-hour emergency service and a fully equipped intensive care unit (ICU).
Some of the common treatments we offer at our hospital in Lleida are:
- Severe bleeding
- Unconsciousness
- Poison
- Vomiting
- Diarrhea
- Ingestion of foreign substances
- Unable to pass urine
- Eye injuries
- Bone fractures
- Seizures
Why might you need an emergency veterinary service?
There can be many different reasons why emergency care is considered. Some of the signs that your pet may require emergency pet care include:
- Difficulty breathing
- Blood loss
- Continuous vomiting
- Ongoing diarrhea
- Broken bones
- Unconsciousness
Any of these symptoms can be serious for your pet and you should contact Ica Natura Veterinary Clinic immediately if you believe you have an emergency on your hands. Please do not try to deal with the situation yourself unless it is necessary to apply immediate and basic pet first aid.
