Ares Burballa
Veterinary Director
Ares earned her Veterinary Medicine degree from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) in 2009, the same year she began her internship at the Hospital Clínic Veterinari.She holds extensive postgraduate qualifications, including a specialization in Veterinary Endoscopy from Improve (2010) and a Master’s Degree in Applied Clinical Research in Health Sciences (2013). Her advanced specialization was consolidated between 2015 and 2018 at the University of Bern (Switzerland), where she earned the European Certificate in Small Animal Veterinary Practice in Neurology. She is currently in the process of obtaining AVEPA Accreditation in this discipline.
On an entrepreneurial level, she founded the freelance services firm Endovet Mòbil in 2011 and Centre Veterinari Xinesca in 2013. Following significant growth, the center became Hospital Veterinari Garbí in 2018 and formally joined the Unavets group in 2022. Scientifically, she combined clinical practice with research in the Exotic Animal Medicine and Surgery Department at UAB for four years and is a regular speaker at national and international veterinary conferences.
She currently serves as the Clinical Director of Hospital Veterinari Garbí, focusing her daily work on clinical neurology and neurosurgery, with a special interest in inflammatory and degenerative central nervous system diseases. Outside of work, she enjoys the sea and nature through scuba diving, sailing, and mountaineering with family and friends.

Miquel Serra
Administrative Director
After managing his own veterinary hospital for nearly 15 years, Miquel began focusing exclusively on veterinary hospital consulting and advisory in 2008. In 2021, he joined the management team of a regional veterinary group. In 2024, he became part of the leadership team at the Garbí center, within the Unavets group.He is committed to applying his extensive industry experience at Garbí to further enhance the center’s management and operational results. He loves cats, particularly Sphynx cats, and lives with three of them. Photography and sports are among his other passions.

Cristina Morales
Veterinarian
Cristina graduated in Veterinary Medicine from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) in 2015. She subsequently completed a one-year general internship and has been part of the Hospital Veterinari Garbí team for eight years, starting her career as an emergency veterinarian.Over time, she focused her clinical practice on her main areas of interest: cardiology, ultrasonography, and internal medicine. Currently, her daily work centers on specialized diagnosis and case management in these fields, combining clinical reasoning with diagnostic imaging to offer personalized care to every patient.

Veterinarian
Graduated in Veterinary Medicine from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) in 1997. After beginning a career in livestock medicine, clinical vocation naturally led toward small animal practice.With over 20 years of experience, he has maintained continuous training across various medical fields, specializing in internal medicine and diagnostic imaging. Currently, Joaquim’s primary passion is surgery, specifically soft tissue and minimally invasive surgery, a field focused on reducing postoperative pain and promoting faster patient recovery.

Alba Usó
Veterinarian
Alba graduated in Veterinary Medicine in 2023, directing her vocation from the beginning of her career toward emergency care, hospitalization, and intensive care. To consolidate her expertise in managing critical patients, she completed the Postgraduate Degree in Emergency Care and ICU at IFEVET.She defines herself as an enthusiastic, committed professional with a strong dedication to teamwork. Her primary goal is to provide peace of mind and trust to both pets and their owners, supporting them with empathy throughout every stage. In her free time, she enjoys hiking in the mountains accompanied by her two dogs, Alpha and Shasha.

Gemma Pujol
Veterinarian
Gemma graduated with a Dual Degree in Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science and Production in 2022. Her professional career has developed primarily in a hospital setting, gaining extensive experience in consultation care and the management of hospitalized and critical patients.Currently, she is part of the hospital’s ICU and Emergency team, participating in the stabilization and treatment of complex cases. Throughout her years of practice, she has continued her advanced training, specializing in diagnostic imaging and currently focusing her studies on computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).

Ibai Tamayo

Ibai graduated in Veterinary Medicine in 2025, bringing a solid scientific foundation after completing a Higher Degree in Pathological Anatomy, which gives him an analytical and rigorous perspective in clinical cases.Currently, he is part of the hospital team, working primarily in consultations and the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). He remains strongly committed to continuous learning, focusing his scientific updates on dermatology and cytology to deliver thorough, patient-centered medical care.

Alejandra Padilla
Veterinarian
Alejandra Padilla graduated as a Veterinary Zootechnician Doctor from the University of Applied and Environmental Sciences (U.D.C.A.) in 2021. In March 2026, she received official degree recognition in Spain, consolidating her career in small animal medicine.With a constant interest in clinical development and comprehensive patient care, Alejandra completed a specialization in small animal abdominal ultrasonography in 2023. She stands out for her responsible profile, strong commitment to animal welfare, excellent teamwork, and motivation for continuous learning.

Pamela Hernández
Veterinarian
Pamela is a Veterinary Zootechnician Doctor who graduated in 2021, with experience in small animal medicine developed in both Colombia and Spain. She holds postgraduate qualifications in Diagnostic Imaging and Veterinary Clinical Laboratory.Her clinical practice covers internal medicine, emergency care, and hospitalized patient monitoring for dogs and cats, as well as anesthetic control and perioperative management. Her background allows her to provide an integrative clinical approach focused on precise diagnosis and careful, personalized patient care.

Sara García
Veterinarian
Sara graduated in Veterinary Medicine from the University of León in 2016. Since then, she has built her professional career in small animal practice, accumulating extensive clinical experience and maintaining a firm commitment to animal health and welfare.After completing her degree, she earned a postgraduate degree in Internal Medicine and expanded her surgical training through various specialized courses, enabling her to manage medical and surgical cases with a comprehensive perspective. Currently, she focuses her work in the emergency, hospitalization, and emergency surgery departments, actively participating in the monitoring of critical patients and procedures requiring immediate surgical intervention.

Carla Polo

Carla Polo graduated in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC) in Lugo in 2024. She subsequently completed a Master's Degree in Exotic Animal Medicine and undertook clinical placements in various zoos and aquariums, expanding her expertise in exotic species care and medicine.During her academic studies, she also completed rotations at the University Veterinary Hospital, strengthening her clinical experience in canine and feline medicine. Currently, she is part of the clinical team at Hospital Veterinari Garbí, focusing her practice with a special interest in veterinary neurology.

María Coll
Veterinarian
Maria Coll graduated in Veterinary Medicine from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) in 2026. She is currently part of the clinical team at Hospital Veterinari Garbí, launching her professional career with enthusiasm and a strong commitment to expanding her clinical skills.Her primary field of interest is veterinary neurology, an area where she plans to pursue advanced training with the long-term goal of obtaining European Board certification. Additionally, in 2020 she earned a qualification in Diagnostic Imaging, providing her with comprehensive expertise in key diagnostic techniques, including radiography, ultrasonography, computed tomography (CT), and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).

Gisela Claret
Practice Manager
Gisela has been part of the team since 2015, when she joined as a veterinary assistant and receptionist. Since then, she has advanced professionally to become Practice Manager. In this role, she works closely with executive leadership in administrative management, human resources, and the center's financial operations.She holds a Higher Degree in Administration and Finance and pursues continuous professional development in her field. With one of the longest tenures at the hospital, she is a key cornerstone of the team’s structure. In her free time, she practices CrossFit and is passionate about cats and Chihuahuas.

Ignasi Miró
Veterinary Asistant
Ignasi obtained his Veterinary Technical Assistant certification in 2018 at Campus Superior de Formación. He complemented his training with a specialization in Anesthesia and Monitoring at Healthcare & Solutions, allowing him to deepen his knowledge in critical areas of animal care.He has been a valued member of the Hospital Veterinari Garbí team since 2018. In 2021, he expanded his responsibilities to include duties as a surgical assistant. His strong commitment to the profession drives him to engage in continuous learning, ensuring his skills and knowledge remain at the highest standard.

Sara Ariza
Veterinary Asistant
Sara Ariza graduated in 2015 with an Intermediate Degree as a Sports Technician in Equestrianism. From that point on, her professional career focused on animal welfare, starting as an equine ATV at Eguisof in 2018. In 2020, she expanded her training into small animal care, joining the team at Hospital Veterinari Garbí in 2022.Here, she has continued her professional growth, excelling in areas such as ICU and surgery, which are her favorites. She also provides support in consultation rooms and reception, always delivering exceptional care to animals. Currently, she serves as the Head of Veterinary Assistants at the hospital.

Valeria Bavaso
Veterinary Asistant
Valeria completed a Higher Degree in Livestock and Animal Healthcare at Joviat School in 2022. In 2024, she joined the team at Hospital Veterinari Garbí, where she participates in the care and monitoring of hospitalized patients, known for her warmth and dedication.Outside the hospital, she maintains a close relationship with animals through her horse, Huracán. Passionate about the sea and outdoor sports, she is an active person motivated to continuously expand her veterinary knowledge.

Naiara Muñoz
Veterinary Asistant
Naiara is a Veterinary Technical Assistant who graduated from Vetformación in 2022. She has been working at Hospital Veterinari Garbí since 2023, focusing on ICU and surgery, as well as assisting with reception and laboratory duties. Her goal is to provide comprehensive, high-quality care to both patients and their families.Her passion for animals, present since childhood, inspired her to turn her love for pet care into her lifelong profession. In her free time, she enjoys horseback riding with her mare, Mako, and shares her life with her dog, Topi. For her, working with animals is far more than a job—it is a way of life.

Alba Fernández

Alba has been a veterinary technical assistant since 2019, after graduating from Academia Triangle, where she also completed specialized training in canine and feline grooming. Following her initial experience in the sector, she joined the team at Hospital Veterinari Garbí to continue her professional development.At the hospital, she is primarily responsible for administrative duties and provides support to the emergency department on weekends, an area that allows her to expand her clinical knowledge and stay close to hospital operations. She also serves as the hospital’s community manager, managing social media channels on Instagram and Facebook to showcase the team’s daily work. Outside of work, she enjoys sports, socializing, and continuous learning, standing out for her approachable, organized nature and her positive contribution to the team environment.

Natasja Villanueva
Veterinary Asistant
Natasja graduated in November 2025 with a diploma in General, Equestrian, and Zoo Veterinary Assistance from the Davante Veterinary School. After completing her internship at Hospital Veterinari Garbí, she formally joined the team as a Veterinary Technical Assistant in June 2026.Currently, Natasja continues her professional training in advanced hospitalization with the goal of expanding her clinical skills and providing increasingly comprehensive and specialized patient care. In her free time, she plays soccer and shares her life with her pet guinea pig.

Andrea Pascual
Veterinary Asistant
Andrea Pascual completed the Advanced Course in General, Equestrian, and Exotic Veterinary Nursing at MasterD between 2022 and 2024. Since then, she has developed a strong vocation dedicated to animal care and welfare.Her professional goal focuses on continuous learning and consolidating her experience in veterinary nursing to offer high-quality care to every patient. Outside of work, animals remain a central part of her daily life, which she shares with her two cats.

Judit Sanfelix

Judit Sanfelix graduated as a Veterinary Technical Assistant from the IDEA Applied Studies Center in 2007. Since the beginning of her career, she has worked continuously in various veterinary centers specializing in small animals, accumulating extensive industry experience.In August 2025, she joined the team at Hospital Veterinari Garbí, working primarily in reception and customer service. Her background and passion for veterinary care enable her to offer friendly, warm, and highly professional client support.

Eva Gabin

Eva Gabin trained as a veterinary assistant, completing 300 hours of clinical internship work where she discovered her passion for hospital-based patient care. Since completing her training, she has built her professional career in veterinary clinics, gaining hands-on experience in consultation rooms, hospitalization units, surgical support, and customer care.She is currently expanding her clinical qualifications by specializing in veterinary hospitalization and emergency care. A lifelong animal lover with a special passion for feline medicine, she focuses her daily work on delivering empathetic, patient, and loving care to every animal while providing warm support to their families.
