Our Team

In our center, we want to offer our clients a service that contributes to the well-being and good health of their pets. To do this, we have a team of veterinary professionals made up of graduates in the field as well as highly qualified technicians.

All of them are characterized by their high level of education and their passion for animals. Of course, all of them are chosen for their seriousness and good customer service. Having a team of professional veterinarians in Tenerife is essential for your pet to have a good state of health

Veterinarians

Roberto Porto

Veterinary Director

Roberto has a degree in veterinary medicine from the University of Leon, Spain, with a specialisation in diagnostic imaging and holding Postgraduate Certificates (PGCert) in Oncology and Cardiology.

He has extensive experience in surgery, endoscopy, and cardiology.

After finishing his studies, he received a scholarship from the European Union to work in northern Italy. Subsequently, he worked for four years in a referral hospital in Barcelona. In 2017, he moved to the Canary Islands, where he founded a veterinary clinic in the north of Tenerife. In 2022, he opened the El Madroñal Veterinary Centre in Costa Adeje.

He also has experience as a veterinarian in the United States and has published articles on the subject in national and international journals.

Rebecca Adams

Veterinary

She holds a Degree in Veterinary Medicine from the Alfonso X el Sabio University in Madrid. After finishing her studies, she completed an internship at a veterinary clinic in Paris, where she gained clinical experience in small animal medicine.

She later moved to Tenerife, where she joined the team at the El Madroñal Veterinary Center, developing her professional activity in the area of general medicine for small animals. Rebecca is bilingual in Spanish and English, which allows her to assist clients of different nationalities.

She is known for her closeness with owners and her commitment to animal welfare, working every day to offer high-quality veterinary care to her patients.

Santiago Rodríguez

Veterinary

Santi studied Veterinary Medicine driven by a lifelong passion for animals and a strong commitment to their health and well-being.

During his training, he discovered the significant role of veterinary medicine in fields such as aquatic species care, which led him to specialize with a master’s degree in that area. He currently works in a small animal clinic, an experience he enjoys as it allows him to have direct contact with pets and their families. He firmly believes in the importance of animal care, as when pets are healthy and happy, so are their owners, making his work as a veterinarian even more rewarding.

Sara Vargas

Veterinary Assistant

In 2022, Sara successfully completed a Veterinary Assistant course, consolidating her knowledge in the field of animal health.

Her passion is focused on areas such as anesthesia, ethology, feline medicine, and veterinary oncology.

 In addition, she has a solid academic background, having obtained her degree in Hispanic philology and her graduate degree in sociology. This diversity of knowledge gives her a unique perspective and an ability to communicate effectively in diverse contexts and with different people.

Emily Bethencourt

Veterinary Assistant

Emily qualified as a Veterinary Assistant in 2023 after completing her work experience at the centre, where she already showed a keen interest in dermatology and surgery.

Her love for animals led her to choose this profession over many others that interested her. Her passion is reflected both in her work and at home, where she has two furry friends: Tequi and Gin.

Laura Cabrera

Veterinary Assistant

Laura trained as a Veterinary Assistant and Wildlife Care Technician. Although her true passion lies with exotic animals, she continues to study and learn more about these fascinating creatures.

She began her internship at our clinic and now works alongside us, demonstrating her love and respect for our animals.

Gabriela Delgado

Veterinary Assistant

Gabriela trained as a Veterinary Technical Assistant (ATV), where she acquired knowledge about animal care, handling, and welfare.

During this stage, she learned how to assist in consultations, support various procedures, and better understand the specific needs of each patient. This experience prepared her to dedicate herself to what she is truly passionate about: the care of animals.
