Corneal ulcers:<\/strong> In our clinic we treat simple and complicated corneal ulcers on a daily basis. Nowadays, the corneal polishing technique and the application of therapeutic contact lenses have made the surgical resolution of the most complicated ulcers a simpler and safer process. In exceptional cases, for deep ulcers or those with a high risk of perforation, we use cell membrane grafting techniques.<\/p>

Prolapse of the lacrimal gland or nictitating membrane: Prolapse of this gland is a very frequent process, responsible for producing 40% of the aqueous secretion of tears. Nowadays, surgery is recommended to reposition it and prevent it from losing its function.<\/p>

Entropion\/Ectropion:<\/strong> Many of the eye problems affecting our pets are due to abnormalities in the position and shape of the eyelids. In our clinic we perform plastic eyelid correction techniques including special techniques such as Shar-pei surgery, or techniques to correct brachiocephalic ocular syndrome.<\/p>

Uveitis:<\/strong> This is an intraocular inflammation, which can be the result of external (trauma, accident) or internal (infection, neoplasia, immune response processes) processes, the consequences of which can be very serious. Correct diagnosis and prompt treatment are the keys to a good prognosis.<\/p>

Glaucoma:<\/strong> This is the result of an increase in pressure inside the eye, which produces very painful symptoms and can lead to loss of vision in our pets. In many cases it is necessary to resort to surgery to control the process.<\/p>

Cataracts:<\/strong> As with humans, our pets can also suffer alterations in their crystalline lenses that lead to the formation of cataracts. In this case, it is important to know the cause of the cataracts in order to carry out a study and recommend surgery, as long as our pet has the possibility of recovering its vision.<\/p>

Vision:<\/strong> Loss of vision can be temporary or permanent, partial or total; it can occur at different ages and be the result of different diseases. It is important, in any medical examination, to check that our pet’s vision does not present any problems for them.
